The Story of NFTulle
NFTulle is a follow-up to İrfan Önürmen's previous projects, İmge Dükkanı and Today, where he explored his perception of modern society as a system of codes and symbols. İmge Dükkanı was designed and exhibited as an installation based on randomly selected patterns and symbols. During the exhibition, the viewing audience was involved in the process of creating different images. In his Today series, the artist drew anonymous human faces on tulle and added a new layer with symbols on top of them.
Never one to perceive art as a rigid field of study and always incorporating new techniques and ideas into his practice, Önürmen's creative language is based on the questioning of both material and medium, as well as what belongs to people and society. In this new work, he has immersed himself in the practices of the new conceptual dimension of the NFT world to continue his visual exploration of language and meaning in the most cutting edge medium in today’s art world.
